Phillip Gonzalez, Jr.
Mr. Phillip Gonzalez is a native of El Paso, Texas. He
was graduated from Bowie High School in El Paso in 1972. Upon his
graduation he enrolled at the El Paso Community College. Then continued
his education at the University of Texas at El Paso where he earned his
Business Administrative Degree (BBA) in Accounting in 1978.
The Internal Revenue Service in the Wichita, Kansas District hired him, in
1978. Mr. Gonzalez has held numerous positions with Internal Revenue
Service. In doing so he has relocated to various states - from El Paso,
Texas to Wichita, Kansas, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Houston,
Texas. Currently his is the Field Compliance Territory Manager for Small
Business Self Employed operating division in the Houston Area and he is
one of two highest-ranking Hispanic official in the Houston Area.
Mr. Gonzalez has been actively involved in the communities where he has
relocated. He is an advisory broad member of the Latino Learning Center,
Inc. He is member of the Advisory Council for San Jacinto College. He
was president of the Hispanic Internal Revenue Employees organization. He
is a Broad member of the Hispanic
Forum.
Mr. Gonzalez has given numerous presentations to various organizations,
such as Government Career Days in high schools. He was on the Parent
Advisory Panel for the Holsmey Elementary School. He is the liaison for
Sherman Elementary School for Navidad en el Barrio (Christmas in the
Neighborhood). He has volunteer to the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance
(VITA) Program for the Internal Revenue Service. He is a Scout Master for
the Boy Scout troop.
Mr. Gonzalez's primary objective is to instill in young adults the
knowledge that education is the door for success, and he is devoting his
time to this endeavor.
