Officer Richard Rodriguez
I am a native Houstonian and was born (Park Place Hospital) and raised in
the Houston's Eastside. I am currently a Houston Police Officer with 16
years of service. I attended Stephen F. Austin High School (Class of
"81"). I attended several colleges which include: San Jacinto Jr College
North, Houston Community College, Sam Houston University and University of
Houston.
I have been involved with several organizations and committees. I am
currently a Board Member with Navidad En El Barrio. I am also currently
active with the following committees: Safety Committee Member-Houston Live
Stock Show and Rodeo, Gulfton Youth Development Steering Committee Member,
Super Neighborhood (Gulfton) Police Liaison, City of Houston Census
Speakers Bureau Committee, Federal Weed and Seed Police Liaison and Member
of the Latino Peace Officer's Association.
While working in the Gulfton community, I had the pleasure to serve the
children of the community by implementing a Bicycle Safety program in
which over 3000 helmets and water bottles were given out to local 4th
graders. With my experience as a community officer, I am glad to serve the
thousands of children with gifts of toys and information, which each child
receives from Navidad En El Barrio. The importance of helping the children
of our community and making a difference for their future instills the
importance of a role model. I invite any and everyone to come join us to
make this difference.
