As a kid I grew up in downtown Houston in a
government housing project called the San Felipe Courts now known as Allen
Parkway Village. I remember the only toys we ever got were the ones being
delivered by the Good fellows off a truck Christmas Day. We were poor but
I always remember the excitement of just getting those toys and wondering
who was responsible for doing this act of kindness.
In 1993, I became involved with
Navidad En El Barrio after meeting Officer Gomez and have been here ever
since. The Lord has blessed me with everything that I have and I have
just wanted to share in any way that I can. This is a great organization
lead by a person with a big heart of kindness and love. This organization
is made up of a great bunch of loving and caring people.
I’m very happy to be associated with
this group of men and women. Hopefully, these kids will someday remember
Navidad En El Barrio and will want to give back as we do. Thank you Lord,
may you continue to bless this organization.
