Agent Arthur Valdez
I graduated from Milby High School in the East End of
Houston, TX in May of 1969. I attended San Jacinto College after high
school, but joined the Houston Police Department in April of 1970, at age
19. I was with HPD for 22 years and retired in January of 1992 as a
sergeant. I accepted employment with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage
Commission as a state police officer and continue in that capacity.
I first became involved with Navidad En El Barrio (NEEB) as a sergeant
with HPD when I send a unit to help out the first NEEB function. I also
take much joy in seeing the faces on the children that normally wouldn't
get Christmas presents. I believe that children are our most valuable
resource and hold the key to this world's future. I am in this for the
children. I have managed to get my family and TABC involved in NEEB. I
even got my mother involved in her old school that she graduated from in
1938.
