School Package Information

Dear School Coordinator,

Please print and review all information links and forms below.  When returning any documents to us please ensure you have your school name printed on all documents to avoid any administrative errors.

• Participant List (maximum of 40 children between the ages of 6-12)

• Authorization & Release of Liability

2009 School Calendar (Please schedule and save dates on your calendar)

• Wednesday, September 9, 2009:  Attend only MANDATORY meeting at Time: NOON-1:15PM, Location: Ripley House Community Center, 4410 Navigation Blvd. 713-315-6400

• On or Before Friday, October 2, 2009:  Provide us with list of 40 children and corresponding Authorization & Release of Liability form for each student (please keep copy for school records). All liability forms are to be turned in to your school liaison.

• On or Before Tuesday, November 10, 2009:  Submit T-Shirt Order Form (payment will be due upon receipt on November 30)

• On or Before Thursday, November 19, 2009:  Essay Deadline (for each entry, submit completed Essay Contest Cover Sheet)

• Friday, November 20, 2009: Distribute flyers and tickets for Annual Benefit Dance. Tickets to our Annual Benefit Dance must be sold to partake in 2009 program.

• Monday, November 30, 2009:  School submit money to Liaison for T-shirt orders and dance tickets.

• Tuesday, December 1, 2009: Liaison submit dance ticket money. Location: 1135 Cortlandt, Houston 77008.  Angelica Landa, Attorney at Law Office (713) 861-1258

• Friday, December 11, 2009:  Gift Wrapping Party

  • Location: George R. Brown Convention Center, go to Hall A3. Click here for location.

  • Starts from 9am until we all gifts have been gift wrapped

  • Donate wrapping paper for gifts and if possible bring scissors & tape
  • Bring as many friends as possible to assist with gift wrapping
  • If your school has any resources for treats for the children's goody bags, please let us know
  • Provide banner (created by children) with school name; banner will be displayed on day of event

• Saturday, December 12, 2009:  22nd Annual Christmas Party
  Location: George R. Brown Convention Center, go to Hall A3. Click here for location.

  • Provide one chaperone for every 10 children and submit any outstanding Authorization & Release of Liability forms to Liaison before boarding bus

• Annual Benefit Dance

  • Saturday, December 19, 2009 7:00PM to Midnight

  • Communication Workers of America Hall,  1730 Jefferson,  Houston 77003. Click here for location.  

• Ongoing:  Please maintain contact with your assigned Navidad En El Barrio School Liaison.  If you need to contact them and do not know how, please call 832-689-4518 and we will have your Liaison contact you.

• NOTE:  Please remember that approximately 63 schools will be participating, so adhering to these guidelines is essential for a successful program.
