🎄 Christmas in July Brings Joy to Incarcerated Mothers and Their Children at Harris County Jail

Houston, TX – July 7, 2025 – Navidad En El Barrio, in partnership with Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, is proud to host a “Christmas in July” Party for female residents at the Harris County Jail on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This heartwarming event will bring joy, hope, and family connection to incarcerated mothers and their children during the summer season. 

The celebration, held at a secure location within the Harris County Jail, will feature a festive atmosphere with holiday-inspired food, family-centered activities, and surprise gifts for children. Most importantly, it will offer a rare and meaningful chance for mothers and their children to reunite in a warm, uplifting environment. 

“This is more than a celebration — it's a moment of healing, of reconnection, and of human dignity,” said Retired Houston Police Officer and Founder Israel “Izzy” Gomez.  “Every child deserves the joy of seeing their parent smile and every mother deserves to see the joy in their child’s face.”
